If so, I would really really want to see the interview… So does she have to get off the couch when the humans want to watch TV? Personally, I would make her get off the couch. In my home, pets aren’t allowed on furniture so…. I saw parts of this interview (she’s Swedish by the way and her name’s Pao) and as much as everyone deserves to be respected for the way they choose to identify it was painfully clear to the viewer that a) she was making up half of the things she was saying or doing and b) that the TV station had asked her to exaggerate certain things to make her seem even more absurd to what the station thought of as its ‘normal, everyday viewers’.  She pointed out that it was ‘sort of racist that people can change their gender but not their species’ and that she hoped ‘science would get on that as soon as possible’.  She lived together with two humans, a man and a woman, these people were referred to as her ‘female and male owners’. She ate cat food from a plate on the floor in front of the TV and she referred to herself as a ‘panther-like animal’ And seeing that the programme wanted to make her out to be even more ‘different’ from the norm than she probably is to begin with, the entire show was somehow deeply frustrating to watch - in many ways it seemed to erase what to me are far more pressing issues of discrimination (e.g. racism, sexism etc) in order to make fun of one single woman. I need to see this interview now.
